English, or hunt seat, lessons will focus on the basics of good centered riding.  We teach by verbal instruction and by example, as with any other sport, observing is a large part of the learning experience.  We strive to provide each student with a strong foundation by mastering each skill step by step until correct riding becomes automatic, and can be relied upon through your life.  It is equally important that our students learn good horsemanship and are encouraged to become familiar with a horse's needs, such as nutrition, veterinarian, farrier, or floating teeth.   Knowledge and execution of good stable management, horse welfare, and riding makes a better horseman.  

What to wear:

You do not need to make a large investment in riding gear to learn how to ride hunt seat. All that is required is a pair of jeans, a pair of boots with a heel and a riding helmet.
